Pride & U
Pride & U
This year at U, we want to come out and support Pride Month, and to support our employees in the LGBTQ+ communities. We believe that everyone should be treated equally no matter who they are, irrespective of sexuality or gender.
“We’re really happy to support pride at U. As an employer, we’re looking to build an open, friendly and - most importantly - inclusive atmosphere. We’re eager to support the LGBTQ+ community and show it.”
- Alex Letts, CEO
We posed the question; “What does Pride mean to you?“ to the team, and here’s what they had to say.
“To me, pride is something that raises awareness, educates and supports everyone who needs it. Pride month is a way to normalise people and universal love, regardless of gender, sexuality or skin tone.”
- Saska Pallayova, Junior Designer
“Pride allows me to share all parts of me and who I am; it lets me love who I want freely and happily without being afraid.”
- Sai, Accounts Team
“We want to be as inclusive as possible and our ethos is to be there for the otherwise marginalised. It’s important to raise awareness and be part of the positive change in the wider world of promoting inclusion and equal rights for all.”
- Naomi Celleste, Senior Unbanking Agent
“Pride month isn’t about me however it’s definitely still for me. The degree to which this protest movement is now also a celebration reminds me of the progress we’ve made towards a more equitable society. Pride also reminds me about the work we still have to do, though, for example to defend the rights of trans people; to improve our country’s treatment of LGBT+ refugees and asylum seekers; and to educate young people inclusively.”
- Richard King, Lead Business Analyst
